100 Day Dress Challenge by Wool&

Good Morning everyone!

Wearing the same dress for 100 days straight??? Did I really choose to do that??? It may sound crazy but yes, thanks to the Wool& 100 Day Dress Challenge, I really did (and you should too!) here’s why…

Wool& 100 day dress challenge why I wore one dress for 100 days and you should too (wool& Fiona Fit&Flare)

What is the Wool& 100 Day Dress Challenge?

Wool& is a rapidly growing sustainable clothing company with the goals to “design the most practical, most wearable item in your wardrobe”. (visit the wool& website here). Using merino wool as the base for all their products wool& equips their customers to live simply, consume carefully, and do good. The Wool& 100 Day Dress Challenge invites customers to wear one of their many products for 100 days straight, receiving a $100 gift card at the end for completing the challenge. They also have a 30 Day Dress Challenge that works the same way.

When my good friend and mentor told me about the wool& 100 Day Dress Challenge I was skeptical to say the least. But after hearing her experience and watching her complete the challenge, I knew I had to try it out myself.

5 reasons I took on the Challenge

  • The Freedom of Simplicity: Having the majority of my outfit already picked out for every day, getting ready in the morning was so simple and stress free! This challenge “decluttered” space in my mind that used to be filled with trying to figure out what I would wear each day.
  • Environmentally Conscious: The dresses from Wool& are made ethically, with natural and renewable resources and are made to last long while being worn consistently. Long lasting clothes means keeping them in your closet and out of the landfill.
  • Economically Worth While: Although the Wool& dresses (like many other sustainable clothes) may seem like a rather large upfront investment, the return is undeniably worth it. Being able to wear the same article of clothing for so long means spending less money on new clothes. It also means spending less on laundry since you won’t have to do it as frequently. You may even find yourself having the freedom to sell some of your old clothes you no longer need!
  • Boost Self Confidence: Ever heard of the spotlight effect? It’s the idea that we think people are noticing and judging us more than they actually are. Most people don’t even recognize you’ve been wearing the same dress for so long until you tell them! Sounds crazy but I can confirm… it’s true
  • Become Part of a Community: There are thousands of happy Wool& customers and many of them have completed the challenge. Many of them have created facebook groups and communities where you can share stories, get tips, and even make a friend 🙂

5 tips for starting (and finishing) your 100 Day Dress Challenge

  1. Pick Your Perfect Dress: Wool& has sooo many great options to choose from with lots of different styles and color choices! When you pick your dress it’s good to keep in mind:
    • The weather you’ll be living in during the challenge
    • Current color scheme of your closet
    • Versatility/Features you’re looking for (i.e.- pockets)
    • Your Personal Style & Comforts
  2. Go Through Your Closet: Once it arrives, spend some time going through your closet to find what goes best with your new dress! Keep the clothes that go with the dress in your closet and box up the ones that are left. Once the challenge is over you can take them back out and go through them. You may find yourself not needing them at all and deciding to simply donate or sell them. Less waste. Less clutter. More room.
  3. Spot Clean Your Dress: Wool& dresses don’t need to be thoroughly washed very often thanks to their material, but if you do get something on it you can spot clean it with a sponge or washcloth. I was amazed at how quickly it dries!
  4. Hand Wash your whole Dress: Every once in a while it is good to thoroughly wash your dress by hand and let it hang or tumble dry. I washed my dress once every week or two but you can often go even longer between washes
  5. Remember to Take a Picture: In order to get that $100 gift card you have to submit 100 pictures in your dress so don’t forget to take them!
